Psalm 114 is a breathtaking reminder that when God shows up, creation itself responds—seas flee, rivers turn back, and mountains skip like young animals. This isn’t just poetic imagery; it’s a declaration that the presence of the Lord carries unmatched power and authority over all of nature. As we pray through this Psalm, we’re asking for more than inspiration—we’re invoking God’s active, miracle-working presence to move in our generation just as He did when Israel came out of Egypt. May His Spirit be poured out in such fullness that the laws of nature bend in reverence, and the earth trembles at His glory. Prayer

Jesus, pour out Your Spirit on the earth to such a degree that miracles respond in creation. Break the laws of nature! Fill Your people with such a dynamic manifestation of Your presence that even nature responds to Your goodness. We invoke Your miracle-working presence in Jesus’ name, the One who calms the waves.

Psalms 114:1-8

When Israel came out of Egypt, Jacob’s people from a foreign land, Judah became God’s sanctuary, Israel his dominion. The sea looked and fled, the Jordan turned back; the mountains leaped like rams, the hills like lambs.

Why was it, sea, that you fled? Why, Jordan, did you turn back? Why, mountains, did you leap like rams, and you hills, like lambs?

Tremble, earth, at the presence of the Lord, at the presence of the God of Jacob, who turned the rock into a pool, the hard rock into springs of water.
