Psalm 115 is a bold cry for God’s glory to be made known—not for our sake, but for His name alone. In a world filled with idols, distractions, and false hope, this Psalm calls us to trust in the living God who speaks, sees, hears, and acts with power. As we pray through this passage, we’re asking God to bless His people in undeniable ways—not for personal gain, but so that every nation, every false god, and every world religion will have to take notice and acknowledge His unmatched greatness. May His fame spread across the earth and His glory shine brighter than any man-made image. If your heart burns for this kind of global awakening, take a moment to share this blog with others—invite your friends to join in this prayer and be part of magnifying Jesus’ name to the ends of the earth.
Prayer
Father, may Your blessing overtake us! Bless us, Your people, in every way so all the nations of the earth will see that You’re alive and well! I ask that Your blessing will be so great that it will be undeniable to every idolater. Cause every person in every world religion to acknowledge Your superiority and accept Your truth. Do this by placing Your glory on display! Don’t do this for our glory. We’re not asking to gloat in our theological correctness. Do this for Your glory and fame. May the fame of Jesus spread around the world in His wonderful name we pray, amen.
Psalm 115:1-18
Not to us, Lord, not to us but to your name be the glory, because of your love and faithfulness. Why do the nations say, “Where is their God?” Our God is in heaven; he does whatever pleases him. But their idols are silver and gold, made by human hands. They have mouths, but cannot speak, eyes, but cannot see. They have ears, but cannot hear, noses, but cannot smell. They have hands, but cannot feel, feet, but cannot walk, nor can they utter a sound with their throats. Those who make them will be like them, and so will all who trust in them.
All you Israelites, trust in the Lord—he is their help and shield. House of Aaron, trust in the Lord—he is their help and shield. You who fear him, trust in the Lord—he is their help and shield. The Lord remembers us and will bless us: He will bless his people Israel, he will bless the house of Aaron, he will bless those who fear the Lord—small and great alike.
May the Lord cause you to flourish, both you and your children. May you be blessed by the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth. The highest heavens belong to the Lord, but the earth he has given to mankind. It is not the dead who praise the Lord, those who go down to the place of silence; it is we who extol the Lord, both now and forevermore. Praise the Lord.
