Everyone needs for the church to be a true Christian community. Christians need it and the world needs it. Let’s pray the depth of our relationships will go deeper so God will be glorified and the church will be strengthened.

Prayer

Jesus, give Your people a love for each other that is so strong that it becomes our support structure in a world that hates us.  Provide every true disciple with loving relationships and friendships that are rooted in You. Establish deep Christian community among the saints. I will be a part of the solution. Empower me to cultivate community within the church by acting in love and reaching out to other believers relationally.  I will seek to disciple new converts, then I will teach them how to connect within the community of faith. May the world truly know that we are Your disciples because we love one another in Your name we pray, amen (John 13:35).

1 John 3:11-15

For this is the message you heard from the beginning: We should love one another. 12 Do not be like Cain, who belonged to the evil one and murdered his brother. And why did he murder him? Because his own actions were evil and his brother’s were righteous. 13 Do not be surprised, my brothers and sister, if the world hates you. 14 We know that we have passed from death to life, because we love each other. Anyone who does not love remains in death. 15 Anyone who hates a brother or sister is a murderer, and you know that no murderer has eternal life residing in him.
