The church has incredible potential. If you’re a Christian, rather than criticizing the church and its people, why don’t you pray for its people to thrive and grow so the church can reach its potential. Warning: if you pray for the church’s potential, then don’t be surprised if God places you in a position to be part of the solution in helping the church develop. Please help us make disciples by sharing our prayers which are developed directly out of the scriptures. 

Prayer

Jesus, I will join You in Your intercession for the church (Romans 8:34). I commit to praying for Your people. Make the people of my church worthy of Your calling on their life. May they be everything You’ve called them to be and may they mature to a place that You can entrust them with the calling that You’ve seeded within them. Release the power within us to accomplish what You’ve placed in our hearts. May faith empower every step. Glorify Your name through us, but also glorify us within the world so Your fame can spread to the nations. Empower this process through the power of Your grace in Jesus name, amen.

2 Thessalonians 1:11-12

With this in mind, we constantly pray for you, that our God may make you worthy of his calling, and that by his power he may bring to fruition your every desire for goodness and your every deed prompted by faith. We pray this so that the name of our Lord Jesus may be glorified in you, and you in him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ.
