Almost all of the problems that we face today have been faced before in church history.  In this case the Apostle John is having to deal with an abusive pastor that doesn’t have a servant’s heart. This danger was true then, and it’s also true now.  Join me in prayer believing that God will raise up servant-leaders within the church, and that they will have the heart of Jesus.  Pray the prayer below and then share it with your Christian friends. 

Prayer:

Father, I pray that my church will be lead by people who are servant leaders, not people who want to be first like Diotrephes.  I ask that my pastor will be submissive to his/her authority and respectful to his/her leaders so that servant leadership and respect for authority will thrive in our congregation. Do this in Jesus’ name. 

3 John 1:9

I wrote to the church, but Diotrephes, who loves to be first, will not welcome us.
