When Jesus told us to make disciples he placed a premium on the quality of disciples within the church over the quantity of disciples in the church. This doesn’t mean that numerical growth is not important. It just means that the spiritual growth and health of the church is one of the highest priorities. Prayer

Jesus, I will continually pray for the spiritual growth of my church. I pray they’ll be filled with the knowledge of Your will through the wisdom and understanding that the Spirit gives. Help us live a life worthy of You. Equip us to please You in every way! Cause us to bear fruit in every good work, and to constantly be growing in the knowledge of God. Strengthen us with all power according to Your glorious might so that we may have great endurance and patience. Develop a desire within us to worship the Father with gratitude. Thank You for qualifying us to share in the inheritance of Your holy people in the kingdom of light and for rescuing us from the dominion of darkness! We are grateful. You’ve given us the kingdom, redemption and  the forgiveness of sins. Continue to work within us. I pray this in Your name, Amen.

Colossians 1:9-14

For this reason, since the day we heard about you, we have not stopped praying for you. We continually ask God to fill you with the knowledge of his will through all the wisdom and understanding that the Spirit gives, so that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and please him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God, being strengthened with all power according to his glorious might so that you may have great endurance and patience, and giving joyful thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of his holy people in the kingdom of light. For he has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.
