I was ministering in Brazil when the Lord spoke to my heart about the prodigal generations in America. Ironically, I was ministering in another nation when the Lord broke my heart for my own people, particularly those who had grandparents or parents that were strong in the faith. Hosea lived among a people that possessed a rich spiritual heritage, but whole generations had turned from God. Hosea’s words to his peers still ring true to us today. The wages of sin is still death and if we don’t pray and preach in the power of the Holy Spirit, then death and oppression only await our prodigal generations. With this urgency in mind, pray with me.

Prayer

Father, I come to You pleading for the prodigal generations.  These youth and young adults have parents and grandparents that were mighty in You, but over time their parents began to compromise with idols and cheap sin.  Now these generations don’t know You! They are committed to their idols, sacrificing anything that stands in the way of their pleasure.  They kiss and cuddle up with their sin.  Lord, they have no roots, they’re going to be blown away.  Pour out Your Spirit and ground them in You.  I’m appealing to Your compassion.  You have history with these kids.  You brought their families out of sin, cared for them in difficult times.  Prospered their parents.  You didn’t do this so You could lose the next generation.  Their parents were proud.  They forgot you and their children paid the price. Rather than using Your animal prowess to hunt this prodigal generation down for destruction, hunt them down to heal them!  Prove Yourself to them.  They’re dumb enough to think government can help, but only You can help. Their sins are piled up to the sky, and time is of the urgency.  They’re having contractions.  They are about to give birth to death.  Deliver them from their death-birthing.  Just like You raised Jesus from the grave, raise this death-baptized generation from the grave.  Soften Your tough talk against them.  Have mercy on the people!  Judge their idols.  Pull the securities out of their hand, but redeem them from the grave of sin.  Violently advocate for their repentance.  Bring this generation home.  We want to see the God in action that redeems death from the grave.  You are our grave robbing God! Act in Jesus’ name!

Hosea 13:1-16

When Ephraim spoke, people trembled;he was exalted in Israel. But he became guilty of Baal worship and died. Now they sin more and more; they make idols for themselves from their silver, cleverly fashioned images, all of them the work of craftsmen. It is said of these people, “They offer human sacrifices! They kiss calf-idols!” Therefore they will be like the morning mist, like the early dew that disappears, like chaff swirling from a threshing floor, like smoke escaping through a window. “But I have been the Lord your God ever since you came out of Egypt. You shall acknowledge no God but me, no Savior except me.I cared for you in the wilderness, in the land of burning heat. When I fed them, they were satisfied; when they were satisfied, they became proud; then they forgot me. So I will be like a lion to them, like a leopard I will lurk by the path. Like a bear robbed of her cubs,I will attack them and rip them open; like a lion I will devour them—a wild animal will tear them apart. “You are destroyed, Israel, because you are against me, against your helper. Where is your king, that he may save you? Where are your rulers in all your towns, of whom you said, ‘Give me a king and princes’? So in my anger I gave you a king, and in my wrath I took him away. The guilt of Ephraim is stored up, his sins are kept on record. Pains as of a woman in childbirth come to him, but he is a child without wisdom; when the time arrives, he doesn’t have the sense to come out of the womb. “I will deliver this people from the power of the grave; I will redeem them from death. Where, O death, are your plagues? Where, O grave, is your destruction? “I will have no compassion, even though he thrives among his brothers. An east wind from the Lord will come, blowing in from the desert; his spring will fail and his well dry up. His storehouse will be plundered of all its treasures. The people of Samaria must bear their guilt, because they have rebelled against their God. They will fall by the sword; their little ones will be dashed to the ground, their pregnant women ripped open.”

Crazy Kingdom

I’ve written a book entitled, “Crazy Kingdom.” Listen to what Lee Ellis had to say about Crazy Kingdom. Lee was a captive with John McCain in the Hanoi Hilton during the Vietnam War.

“Cameron has identified what may be the biggest struggle we all face and then provided the solution in a powerful, practical, and personal way. His straightforward message and great examples gave me a clearer mindset along with the inspiration and tools to live a more joyful and effective life in the kingdom. Crazy Kingdom is a fantastic book that is going to help us all become the faith-based people we so long to be.”
