Most of us are not signing up to be corrected, but if we’re a serious disciple of Jesus, correction is the key to accelerated spiritual growth. Most people hide behind self-righteousness or apathy, but the growing disciple seeks to be corrected. They desire for stronger believers to point out their blindspots and areas of weakness. We must pray, “Lord, speak to me and correct me.” When these words are on our lips, then productive challenges are ahead. So why don’t you pray this prayer with me. This prayer accepts the Lord’s discipline and correction. Pray this prayer with me that is based on Amos 3:1-10.
Prayer
Father, You have chosen us, therefore You must discipline us for our sin. Thankfully, You will warn us first. Let us see that You are speaking through our circumstances and when our circumstances speak, give us the wisdom to listen. Lord, You also speak through the prophets and the preachers. So Father, I pray that You will give them Your message. Give them a clear word from You, and when they speak may they speak with clarity, and may they be as bold as a lion. Father You are speaking, let us hear Your voice. Let us respond to the voice of the preacher. If we don’t listen then we will end up with the unrest and oppression of the people that don’t know You. So don’t let that happen. Give your church a heart for truth. Let us respond to truth. Let us respond to Your call. Let us respond to Your holiness in Jesus name.
Amos 3:1-10
Hear this word, people of Israel, the word the Lord has spoken against you—against the whole family I brought up out of Egypt: “You only have I chosen of all the families of the earth; therefore I will punish you for all your sins.” Do two walk together unless they have agreed to do so? Does a lion roar in the thicket when it has no prey? Does it growl in its den when it has caught nothing? Does a bird swoop down to a trap on the ground when no bait is there? Does a trap spring up from the ground if it has not caught anything? When a trumpet sounds in a city, do not the people tremble? When disaster comes to a city, has not the Lord caused it? Surely the Sovereign Lord does nothing without revealing his plan to his servants the prophets. The lion has roared—who will not fear? The Sovereign Lord has spoken—who can but prophesy? Proclaim to the fortresses of Ashdod and to the fortresses of Egypt: “Assemble yourselves on the mountains of Samaria; see the great unrest within her and the oppression among her people.” “They do not know how to do right,” declares the Lord, “who store up in their fortresses what they have plundered and looted.”
MY BOOK CRAZY KINGDOM IS OUT!
When you truly give yourself to the kingdom, some people will believe you are crazy.
Have you ever noticed how backward God’s ways seems compared to the natural way things are done? Many times, God’s plans are the complete opposite of man’s. The principles of God’s kingdom say that to live, we have to die; to be a leader, we have to serve; and to receive, we have to give. When we accept the kingdom of Christ, we must unlearn every instinct. We must transform our thinking into a lens of understanding that most people will perceive as backward and crazy. But the reality is this kingdom, this Crazy Kingdom, turns everything that’s upside down to right-side up.
Crazy Kingdom clearly outlines the differences between living according to a worldly standard with a survivalist mentality and following Christ. God is awakening the next generation of kingdom leaders to arise and stand firm for a spiritual awakening to come to this land. These leaders will be the ones who embrace the backward principles of the Crazy Kingdom and transform the word around them.
“Are you ready for a new God assignment? Then this book is for you! Crazy Kingdom will shift your very concept of what it means to live a life of victory.
