The Lord’s faithfulness has kept us. We have a tendency to backslide and go our own way, but mercifully He draws us back to himself time and time again. I believe we should thank him for this. Why don’t you join with me as I thank God for His thankfulness? This prayer is a response to Hosea 6:4-11. Why don’t you pray the prayer, then read the scripture with me?

Lord, I know Your people exasperate You. Your people’s love for You appears strong and passionate one moment, then the next moment it disappears just like dew. A fickle people is what we are. You beat us up with Your preachers every Sunday! They tell us where You stand on the issues every week! Their preaching is as clear as the sun. You don’t desire mindless religious activity that moves bodies but doesn’t change hearts. You want us to be merciful with hurting people; You want us to live with You as the top priority in thought and action. You are looking for covenant-keepers, but humanity has been covenant breakers since Adam. The results of Your backslidden people is a land filled with violence, murder, and people trying new and false religions. Gilead is a city of evildoers, stained with footprints of blood. As marauders lie in ambush for a victim, so do bands of priests; they murder on the road to Shechem, carrying out their wicked schemes. I have seen a horrible thing in Israel: There Ephraim is given to prostitution, Israel is defiled. “Also for you, Judah, a harvest is appointed. “Whenever I would restore the fortunes of my people…
Help Me Help People Grow!
Most people don’t know where to start growing spiritually. I can assure you the starting point is prayer and Bible reading. Still most people don’t know how or where to start. Royal Perspectives is a great place to start. My desire is to connect people to God by connecting them to the scriptures and prayer. When one prays the Bible, they pray the perfect will of God. Praying the scriptures consistently will produce spiritual growth.
As people pray the written prayers, they catch prayer in their spirit. When this happens people discover the God that saved them.
