A Prayer to be a Blessing to the Church and Its Mission

God has called us to a higher purpose. He’s called each Christian to be a part of a team to spread the message to others.  This team is called a local church. This prayer crafted from Philippians 2:1-4 is a verbal commitment to Christ, His church and His mission.  Join with me in prayer today, then share this with your friends.

Prayer 

Father, because You have blessed me and continue to bless me through Your Son, I will be a blessing to others and to the church. I will be like-minded, filled with love and continually cooperating with all the saints to carry out Your purposes. There’s no need for me to do anything for my glory and recognition since you meet my every need: internally and externally. I’m not sustained by the recognition of man, but by the recognition of You. I declare that my life is others-centered, not self-centered. I will serve the mission, not myself, and I will choose the place that I will be the most effective, not the most seen, in serving the mission. I will be the ultimate team player.  May You receive all the glory and praise through my life, inthe name of Jesus, amen.

Philippians 2:1-4

Therefore if you have any encouragement from being united with Christ, if any comfort from his love, if any common sharing in the Spirit, if any tenderness and compassion, then make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and of one mind. Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others.
