In 1 Thessalonians 5:25-28, Paul doesn’t simply give us a salutation. He shares with us the simple ingredients of a healthy body of believers. This prayer takes these ideas and turns them into a prayer to build the church. Why don’t you pray this prayer with me? Then share it with your friends so the church can be established and the Father can be glorified.

Prayer

Jesus, build Your church through us, Your people. I pray that we’ll build on the foundation of prayer, courtesy with the saints, the word of God and grace. Make us expert builders. May we build on Your foundation! Work through us in Your name, the master builder.

Brothers and sisters, pray for us. Greet all God’s people with a holy kiss. I charge you before the Lord to have this letter read to all the brothers and sisters. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you.
