Hi, I’m Cameron King. I am the lead pastor of NewSong Church, where I have served as pastor since 2013. I also served as the lead pastor for 13 1/2 years at First Assembly of God in Cairo, Georgia. I have a knack for taking troubled churches and transforming them into healthy communities of faith.
I am also the author of The Key to Your Church’s Vision: the Practical Guide to Praying For Your Pastor. This humorous book looks at how to bless your church by learning how to pray for your pastor. Pastor’s have a unique and many times humorous job. This book looks at the funny and serious sides of pastoring while explaining why and how church attenders should pray for their leaders.
My Story
I had a radical encounter with God as a teenager, and I have invested a large portion of my life in prayer and worship since then. This desire to be intimate with God birthed my love for the prophetic and healing ministry.
For years, I have trained people to hear from God and activated Christians into the supernatural gifts of the Spirit. I finally decided to own that role and be intentional about it. My mission is to help serious disciples develop intimacy with God, move in power and live principle-centered lives.
To that end, I write on intimacy with God, spiritual leadership, praying the scriptures, kingdom-principles and supernatural ministry. On occasion, I write about stuff that doesn’t fit neatly into one of these categories. You can find out more on my Start Here page.
My goal is to create insightful and relevant content that you can put to work in your spiritual, personal and professional life. If you consider yourself spiritually hungry—someone who wants to impact eternity—then this blog is for you.
I typically post three times a week, occasionally more. Make sure you don’t miss my newest posts- subscribe via e-mail. It’s quick, easy, and you can unsubscribe at any time.
My Biography
I began preaching revivals and having healing services at the age of 16. After high school I attended Southeastern University in Lakeland, Florida, where I majored in church ministries with a concentration in preaching. After graduation I accepted the pastorate of a bustling congregation of 9 people in Cairo, Georgia. I pastored there for a total of 13 and half years. During that time we did a 1.1 million dollar relocation and building project where we bought the largest piece of undivided land within the city limits while only accruing minimal debt. During this time we also started a non-profit and worked with other non-profits that addressed issues of poverty in Southwest Georgia. Rachel and I also developed a love for real estate that has blossomed into a real estate investment business.
My life was eternally changed on October 8, 2010. On this day my wife and I were in a car accident that was fatal to my oldest daughter – Makiah Kaitlyn King, who was four at the time. We were hit by a group of minors driving under the influence of drugs as we were returning home from vacation. The long process of putting our lives back together following the aftermath of our devastation and the healing that God has worked within our hearts has become my wife’s life message. In memory of Makiah we also developed the Makiah Well Project where we build wells for children who need clean drinking water all around the world. In conjunction with Operation Blessing, many of you have partnered with us to build 16 wells in the following countries: India, Ghana, the Philippines, Cambodia and South Africa.
I am currently the pastor of NewSong Church in Monroe, GA where I have served for the last 4 years as the lead pastor. NewSong is a thriving congregation that is passionate in worship, active in spiritual gifts, and is on the cutting edge of seeking a spirit-filled outpouring of the Holy Spirit on the East side of Atlanta.
My Family
I have been married to my wife, Rachel, for fifteen years. We have four daughters on earth who are the joy of our lives: Abigail, Alena, Maddie Grace and Eliana. We live outside of Atlanta, Georgia.
In my free time I enjoy running, weight lifting, and eating.
